Three reasons to join Department Bonded Warehouse according to ECO Surv

September 23rd 2022

ECO Surv, a provider of software solutions and mobile survey applications for compliance and workflow management for the ECO, renewables and retrofit industries, has chosen Department Bonded Warehouse for its city centre base.

Established in 2013, by founding directors Nathaniel Butters and Alessandro Zerillo, the duo brought together 25 years of experience in the energy and software sectors to develop an award-winning platform providing a bespoke workflow & compliance management solutions to organisations operating in the energy efficiency, renewables and retrofit sector.  The ECO Surv platform provides a full end to end, onsite surveying, installation, compliance, and submission journey all wrapped around industry regulations brought together in one user-friendly system.

Nathaniel Butters, CEO and co-founder of ECO Surv gives three reasons why they have chosen to take space at Department Bonded Warehouse.

1. THE LOCATION

We have been looking for the perfect opportunity to move to Manchester for some time. We knew it was going to be the catalyst we needed to expand our headcount and business as a whole. With our current headquarters in Chorley, we wanted to provide a base in the city centre for both our team to enjoy and to support the business growth.

It doesn’t get much better than Department Bonded Warehouse. The facilities themselves are great, but what we appreciate the most is being a part of the ever-expanding Enterprise City. Having the opportunity to be surrounded by other tech businesses has been a breath of fresh air & we’ve met other great founders that are doing some really exciting and inspiring work.

2. THE FLEXIBILITY

Post-pandemic there has been lots of noise around hybrid and fully remote working, particularly within the software industry. But as a business we have given the choice to our team, we want them to choose how they work. Our team now has the option to work from home and at either of our office spaces, pleasing those wanting to work in the city centre and those wanting to stay closer to our head offices.

The flexibility of Department Bonded Warehouse has created a new style of working for us. The team can either work at our allocated desks or collaboratively in the shared areas. Software development can sometimes be a lonely job with hours spent working at laptops, however with the environment of Bonded Warehouse, we’re finding team socialisation and collaboration is happening much more.

3. THE PEOPLE

As an ever-growing team we are always looking to recruit brilliant talent. Manchester has one of the best talent pools in the UK, with the great Universities and a growing community of professionals in the tech space. It was a no brainer that we sought to expand our team in Manchester.

We have a very exciting 12 months ahead as we are planning the launch of a new version of the ECO Surv platform and mobile apps. We are also going to be undertaking significant projects within other market verticals particularly in social housing and local authority funded energy efficiency programs and expanding our platform and professional services. To do this we need new talent to grow our team in line with the growth of our products.

There is always space within our tech solutions team, so if you’re a software developer looking for a new challenge in the energy efficiency market, get in touch!
